AUCKLAND SUBURBAN INTENSIFICATION PROJECT

This proposition is an attempt at activating and intensifying an existing suburban block. The inspiration for this project is derived from a universal need for road widening in this traffic-prone intersection. By creating more car lanes, bus and cycle lanes, our proposition attempts to relieve this area of its traffic and bottleneck issues, while encouraging public transport, cycling and walking.

Our proposition expands and intensifies the current block of shops and businesses by adding apartments up to four-storeys high, which are based on the new Unitary Planning Controls. This proposition explores the bountiful possibilities and opportunities that sites like these can provide to take Auckland another step in the right direction
